Sampo Lehtinen

Sampo Lehtinen

SAMPO LEHTINEN was born in Helsinki, Finland 1978. His versatile career began as a catwalk fashion and costume designer, and between 2001-2005 he worked for various internationally acclaimed companies and brands. However, Lehtinen soon realized his desire to use more narrative approach in his work and began operating between the conventional boundaries of design and art. He began studying further areas of interests such as art theory, semiotics and branding as well as other sectors of creative industries to support his artistic ambitions.

Since 2006 Lehtinen has been working as an artist and visual designer on a freelance basis. He has initiated and participated in numerous multidisciplinary projects encompassing fashion, design, music, film, visual and performing arts. He currently lives and works in London.

Gallery Embrace is proud to be representing Sampo for his series of collages inspired by the works of Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt (1862-1918). These collages have been created using torn editorial and advertising images from contemporary fashion magazines. We think they are great!
